It's EV Tuesday!
7th July 2026
Hello EV Tuesday readers.
We hope you are enjoying this warm weather but also, remember to stay hydrated and stay cool both inside your car and when you are at home!
This week in our EV Tuesday newsletter we have the last instalment of EV Adventures across Tasmania (hope you have enjoyed watching their adventure), a magazine to flick through, a greta news article on using solar charging and a great car review.
So now is the time to sit down for 20 minutes, read through the newsletter and relax in the shade with a big glass of cold fluid!
Until next time, have a great week!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: OVO ENERGY
OVO Energy is the independent UK gas and electricity supplier that’s won 11 of the 12 award categories at the uSwitch Energy Awards for 3 years running. It’s on a mission to make energy simpler and fairer through ethical pricing, great service – and a commitment to helping local communities and the wider world.
2. EV NEWS: BBC NEWS
Solar EV drive shows UK's hidden beauty. A former BBC Formula 1 commentator has driven the length of the UK in an electric vehicle (EV) using only solar power, describing the journey as a reminder of "how beautiful" the country is. Jeremy Hart, from Surrey, led a team of four people on the 1,000 mile (1,609km) journey from Lands End to John O'Groats.

3. EV TIP: COLLECT AND MONITOR DRIVING DATA
All consumer and fleet electric vehicles have their own unique driving patterns. To truly maximize range and energy efficiency, the most powerful tool at your disposal is knowledge of your driving and charging patterns. Electric vehicle telematics allows owners to better understand how much range they need, how to improve it, and when improvements will be necessary.
4. EV ADVENTURE: EV ADVENTURE TRIP
EV Road Trip Around Tasmania Day 7 - My Last Day In Tassie. Today, after spending the night in Low Head, on the north coast, I complete the final part of my journey visiting Launceston, the Devil's Gullet, and Sheffield, before ending the day in Devonport, to take my EV on the Spirit of Tasmania to sail home to the mainland.

5. EV REVIEW: AUTO TRADER
BYD DOLPHIN G DM-i
BYD Dolphin G DM-i Latest new arrival from BYD is a compact hatchback with full plug-in hybrid power. BYD’s rapid expansion into every affordable sector of the market continues apace with the Dolphin G DM-I, which again sounds like an exhibit in a sea-life centre but in fact a small hatchback taking on familiar names like the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Yaris, Vauxhall Corsa and Renault Clio.
Its party piece is that it’s the only plug-in hybrid (PHEV) of this size, other than BYD’s own Atto 2 DM-icrossover, that is. Apparently, the ‘G’ stands for ‘genius’, but is this five-door BYD really operating at that sort of exalted level of ability?

6. EV MAGAZINE: EV FLEET WORLD
The new issue of Fleet World and Van Fleet World is out now, featuring EV insights, latest vehicle tests and advice for fleets. The June-July edition offers thought leadership on our EV ready theme, ensuring you are managing your fleet’s transition to electric while minimising the friction points. Elsewhere, we talk to Chris Clayton, who heads the fleet team at Chery, Omoda, Jaecoo and now Lepas, on what it means for attracting the right drivers to each brand. We’ve also been on the road in the new BYD Dolphin G DM-i plug-in hybrid, as well as the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric.
Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
