EV Tuesday Week 237

EV Tuesday Week 237

It's EV Tuesday!

8th September 2026

Good morning to our EV Tuesday readers.

As we start on a new week, take a look outside, listen to the birds, soak up the beautiful sun and take a moment to relax.
We are now getting busier and busier, making, building, researching everything EV related. We try our best to bring something a bit different each and every week direct to your inbox. We love having any feedback (positive or negative) from our readers, it helps us to grow as a community.
So please do, feel free to pop us an email and let us know your thoughts. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and sit down for 20 minutes to read through this week's EV Tuesday newsletter.

We will be posting this to our social media channels including Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Get involved and give us any ideas in the comments, they may well get used next week!

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: ABRP

The absolute best app for route planning in an EV is A Better Route Planner. ABRP is in your app store, or in your browser at www.abetterrouteplanner.com. You can choose your start and end state of charge, pick multiple stops and loads of other options - it also has every EV out there in it.

2. EV NEWS: RAC

More than half of young people want their first car to be an EV. The majority of young drivers want their first car to be electric, according to a new study. The research, commissioned by E.ON Next, spoke with 1,500 drivers aged 17 to 20 about their next vehicle purchase.

More than half (55%) want their next car to be electric, while almost a quarter (23%) of those surveyed stated that owning a petrol car is ‘as outdated as using a landline telephone’. Young drivers are increasingly attracted to electric vehicles, with lower running costs among the biggest reasons for making the switch.

3. EV TIP: CHARGING OPTIONS

Explore the whole range of available charging options. There are so many different ways to charge your car from Portable to wall chargers. Remember to explore all the options.

4. EV TYRES: EV MUSINGS

In this episode of EV Musings, I follow up on the Hankook ION EVO tyres I fitted last season (replacing a set of budget Davantis), and I’m joined by Andrew Till (Mr EV) who fitted the all-season ION FlexClimate SUV tyres. We compare notes on handling, road noise, and real-world efficiency after several months and thousands of miles.

5. EV REVIEW: ELECTROHEADS
