EV Tuesday Week 233

EV Tuesday Week 233

It's EV Tuesday!

28th July 2026

Good morning EV Tuesday readers.

This week we have been busy here in Marlow. We have been building all your cables and plugs, we have been researching a variety of apps, tips and links for you to take a look at as well as finding and exploring new products.
Always keep an eye on our website to see what we introduce, but as always we will keep you updated through our EV Tuesday newsletter.
For now, take a seat, enjoy the sun whilst it is here and read this weeks copy of EV Tuesday.

Until next time, have a great week!

Sit back, and enjoy this week's edition of EV Tuesday.

We will be posting this to our social media channels including Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Get involved and give us any ideas in the comments, they may well get used next week!

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: ALL STAR

Introducing the new Allstar Co-Pilot app, download today and make sure you are getting the most from your Allstar card. Allstar Co-Pilot provides drivers with a hassle-free experience when it comes to recharging and refuelling on the road, making expensive detours and downtime waiting for chargers to be available a thing of the past, helping businesses save both time and money.

2. EV NEWS: THE INDEPENDENT

More than 140,000 motorists have benefited from a government scheme designed to reduce the cost of electric vehicles (EVs) in its first year, the Department for Transport (DfT) has revealed. The Electric Car Grant, launched on 16 July last year with £2 billion in funding, offers discounts of either £1,500 or £3,750 on new EV purchases, determined by sustainability criteria.

3. EV TIP: FREE CHARGE POINTS

Free charge points are mostly found at big supermarkets. According to Zap-Map, there are about 5,000 free charge points in the UK. To find them, it allows you to filter by payment method, including free-to-use ones.
Many free EV charge points are at supermarkets (about a quarter), though you can find them at a range of locations, including public and retail car parks, car dealership forecourts, and at hotels and B&Bs, among others.
Most free chargers are 'fast' 7 kilowatt (kW) connections – so if you're shopping for an hour or so you'd get about £2 worth of free juice for your car, or about 30 miles.

4. EV EVENT: EV CHARGE LIVE

22nd - 24th September EVCharge Live UK is the UK’s premier electric vehicle charging infrastructure exhibition, featuring over 100 global exhibitors showcasing thousands of innovative EV products, hardware, and software solutions.
More than 150 expert speakers will provide critical insights on grid bottlenecks, depot rollout, fleet decarbonisation, market trends, government policies, and commercial deployment opportunities.
