EV Tuesday Week 174

EV Tuesday Week 174

It's EV Tuesday!

6th May 2025

Good morning EV Tuesday community. Another Bank Holiday has been and gone with some beautiful weather along the way. This week we have been working away in the office to find a variety of goodies for you to enjoy.
One of our regular readers, Martin B, has asked us for information on how to make the most from regenerative braking. We have got together a blog full of information with a link in this weeks' EV Tuesday.
If you would like us to research anything for you, pop us a message on social media or email in and we will do our best to gather the information for you.
Now, sit back, relax and read through this weeks' EV Tuesday.
We will be posting this to our social media channels including Facebook, Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: EV NAVIGATION

EV Navigation is a turn-by-turn navigation and route planner system, created for electric car users all around the world. EV Navigation does not only provide users with a reliable navigation system, including charging stations, but it is also capable of calculating the range the users can cover with their individually selected electric car.

2. EV NEWS: INSIDE EVS

The new Jeep Compass EV looks rugged, but it's a Peugeot underneath. Even though it looks boxy and distinctly Jeep-like, the new Compass rides on the same platform as the Peugeot 3008 and 5008. Jeep will officially take the wraps off an all-new Compass next week. But we don’t have to wait until then to see it, thanks to photos that leaked online.

3. EV TIP: REGENERATIVE BRAKING

Regenerative braking is an electric-only motoring feature that allows your car to recharge as it brakes. When you begin to slow down in your EV, the electric motor will capture energy to put back into the battery that can be used to power your car. Most EVs will have different modes that allow you to decide what level of regenerative braking you’d like to use, including the highly efficient ‘one-pedal driving’ that allows you to come to a stop in your EV without even touching the brakes. This allows for the most amount of regenerative braking. Take a look at our blog further down.

4. EV BLOG: US! EV CABLES

How to maximise EV driving efficiency using one pedal driving and cruise control. Driving an electric vehicle (EV) efficiently isn't just about preserving battery life — it’s about mastering smooth, controlled driving techniques that make the most of your car’s technology. Two of the most powerful tools for improving EV range are one-pedal driving and cruise control.

5. EV REVIEW: CAR AND DRIVER

Renault Twingo

The reborn Renault Twingo will cost just €20,000, however we’re still waiting on confirmation it will come to the UK. The Renault Twingo is the next icon from the French firm’s seemingly never ending back catalogue that will be reborn as an electric car for the masses, following hot on the heels of the long-awaited Renault 5 supermini that just went on sale and the Renault 4 baby SUV coming very soon.
