EV Tuesdays: Week 2

EV Tuesdays: Week 2

Week 2: 16th November 2021

Happy Tuesday EV Owners! A new week is upon us already and we have a cracking line up for you this week. Each week we will bring to you 5 different tools, tutorials, podcasts, pretty much anything we can find to help you with your electric car.

Feel free to let us know if there is anything in particular you want to know about....we will get our little fingers tapping at the internet for you and see what we come up with. Until then, grab a drink, click on the links below and enjoy this weeks 5 items.

We'll also be posting these to our blog here (with one extra item!), TwitterFacebookReddit (check-out the r/evcables subreddit) so get involved wherever you like and give us any ideas in the comments. We'll hoover them all up for future editions!

Check out what we have in store this week.....

1. EV Podcast: Fully Charged

Last week we featured the fully charged show. This is their Podcast Edition which we're fans of listening to on the treadmill: "Filled with interesting stories, almost breaking news, a pinch of wit and a dash of banter. Some YouTube behind the scenes chat, and a few guests who actually know what is going on in the world of EVs, renewable energy and sustainability".

2. EV Tool: Open Charge Map

Open Charge Map is a non-commercial, non-profit, electric vehicle data service hosted and supported by a community of businesses, charities, developers and interested parties around the world.

3. An EV Tip: Time Your Change

Thanks to My EV for this "You may not want to keep your car plugged into its charger whenever it’s in the garage. That's because most EV batteries will slowly self-discharge when they’ve finished charging. You may be able to recover a few extra miles of range by timing the charge so the battery pack is at full strength just before you hit the road. This can also be advantageous to the battery’s long-term health, and if your electricity provider offers a lower rate for off-peak use, it can save you a few bucks in the process."

4. EV Info: Consumer Code for Home ChargePoint

The Code has been developed by Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the REA, the largest association for renewable energy and associated clean technology in the UK. This is a great bit of information for consumers and businesses, about ensuring your chargepoints are installed safely, correctly and how they are maintained.

5. EV Forum: Electric Forum

"At Discover EV we aim to bring you the latest unbiased facts, news and reviews about EVs, battery tech, charging and everything AFV".

Blog Version Extra:

6. EV Video: Fully Charged

This week we bring you a video about one of China's Strangest Electric Cars to date! Fully Charged is the world’s number 1 clean energy & electric vehicle channel hosted by writer, broadcaster and actor Robert Llewellyn, Maddie Moate, Rory Reid, Helen Czerski, Chelsea Sexton and Andy Torbet.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
