EV Tuesdays: Week 32
21st June 2022

Good Morning EV Community.

Happy EV Tuesday. How are we halfway through the year already?! What did you think of the great links last week? Did you have any questions you wanted to ask us?

This week we have some fantastic electric vehicle goodies for you to browse through. There may be a bit of news, a podcast, an app even and possibly a video to watch.

Now is the time to stop what you are doing for a few minutes, click on the links and see what we have in store this week. We'll also be posting these to our blog (with one extra item!) right hereTwitterFacebookReddit (check out r/evcables subreddit).

Feel free to add any comments or pop us a message with something you may like to be featured.......you may even get a special mention.

1. EV APP of the Week: Charge Point

Electric mobility is the smart choice. We make it the easy one, too. Since 2007, we’ve focused solely on offering the best electric vehicle (EV) charging experience for everyone involved in the shift to electric mobility. Here’s how we do it — and why we won’t stop.

2. EV Podcast: Apple Podcast

Electric vehicles: Should you switch? Are they the 'Best Thing Since Sliced Bread'. Greg tests one of the most popular cars in the UK and hears from experts including Mike Berners-Lee & Vicky Parrot to conclude whether electric vehicles are worth the hype and your money.

3. EV Tip: One Pedal Driving

‘One-pedal driving’ is one of the joys of owning an EV. In short, it allows you to start, accelerate, decelerate and stop using only the accelerator pedal. The brake pedal is largely redundant.

It takes a while to get used to, but once you’re familiar with the system, you’ll wonder how you coped without it. Not all EVs offer one-pedal driving, but the Nissan e-Pedal is a good example of the technology.

The e-Pedal harvests energy when braking or decelerating, which is recycled into the batteries. It even makes driving in traffic a pleasurable experience. Well, almost.

4. EV News: Inside EVs

There’s a new report out by research company Bloomberg Intelligence and it predicts a major reshuffling at the top of the EV manufacturer pyramid. It suggests that current global leader Tesla will not keep its crown for long and that it will be overtaken by Volkswagen in around 18 months

5. EV Video: Fully Charged

Each week we will bring to you another episode in the 'Maddie Goes Electric' range.

Here's the fifth and penultimate episode of the Fully Charged Show's 6 part series “Maddie Goes Electric” - a beginner’s guide to electric cars.

Blog Version Extra:

6. EV Review: CarWow

The Porsche Taycan is a seriously fast, seriously luxurious four-seater sports car that’s packed with tech, comfy to drive and better than a Tesla Model S in the corners. Is the Porsche Taycan a good car?

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
