EV Tuesday Week 195

EV Tuesday Week 195

It's EV Tuesday!

7th October 2025

Good morning to our EV Tuesday readers!

Well wasn't that a blustery weekend we just had! We hope you all kept safe and warm indoors and your Electric Vehicles didn't get damaged.
Anyhow, the windy weather gave us time other than have a good look to see what EV related tips, tools and links we could find for you this week.
So sit back, grab a hot drink (it's starting to get chilly) and have a good read of what we have in store for you this week.

We will be posting this to our social media channels including Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Get involved and give us any ideas in the comments, they may well get used next week!

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: TAP ELECTRIC

The best EV charging app for clear, upfront pricing every time you charge. We know drivers want more out of their EV charging experience, so we’re building an app that does just that. We're on a mission to make EV charging transparent, accessible and affordable for drivers everywhere. Charger owners, installers and operators can offer the Tap experience directly to their drivers.

2. EV NEWS: WHICH EV?

RIP RRP – The Misleading Metric Hiding the True Cost of Electric Cars. The automotive industry is sounding the death knell for the Recommended Retail Price (RRP), arguing the long-standing metric is distorting the reality of electric vehicle (EV) affordability and actively confusing consumers. A coalition of industry experts, data analysts, and senior leaders is calling for a shift in focus from simplistic list prices to the transactional data that they say proves cost parity with petrol and diesel cars is not a distant dream, but a present-day reality.

3. EV TIP: LIMIT DC FAST CHARGING

While convenient for long trips, frequent use of high-power DC fast chargers generates more heat and can accelerate battery degradation. Rely on slower Level 2 charging for your day-to-day needs.

4. EV VIDEO: COME CHARGE WITH US

1 Day 1000 EV Miles Part 2 - Charging Camaraderie Welcome back to Come Charge with Us! In this second part of our 1000EV miles in a day journey we stop at the new Tesla Supercharger in Dijon - and come face to face with the local Tesla owners club! Tune in to find out more….and to help us solve the mystery - why DO women take so long in the bathroom?

5. EV REVIEW: CAR WOW

Skoda Elroq

Skoda Elroq. The new Elroq takes Skoda into mid-size electric SUV territory for the first time though, using the larger Enyaq as a starting point. And much like comparing an iPod Nano to an original iPod, the Elroq takes the Enyaq recipe and wraps it up in a smaller package. It’s an alternative to the Kia EV3, Renault Scenic E-Tech and Peugeot E-3008 - but it’s nowhere near as funky to look at.

6. EV PODCAST: THE INTERCOOLER

Is this British EV startup going to change the game? Dan Prosser and Andrew Frankel discuss Longbow, the British electric sports car startup that has recently announced a handful of big name signings, including former McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt. With two new lightweight EV sports cars due next year, can Longbow really deliver on its extraordinary claims? Dan and Andrew also chat about the latest Audi RS3, the last that will be powered by five cylinders, and share news of their next live podcast.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
