1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: GOOGLE MAPS
Shows many public chargers with live info. Great for combining navigation + charging stops. Works well alongside a dedicated EV app.
2. EV NEWS: THE GUARDIAN
UK poised to water down 2030 EV sales targets after industry and union pressure. Keir Starmer ready to overrule Ed Miliband after warnings manufacturers would be penalised and jobs put at risk. The government is preparing to consult on less ambitious targets for the transition to fully battery-powered electric cars over the rest of the decade after carmakers and unions warned that they would penalise manufacturers and put jobs at risk.
3. EV TIP: WARM WEATHER & LONG JOURNEYS
Warm weather and long summer journeys can make correct tyre pressures even more important. Properly inflated tyres: Improve your EV's range by reducing rolling resistance. Provide better handling and braking. Help tyres wear more evenly, saving you money over time. Check your tyre pressures when the tyres are cold, and follow the manufacturer's recommended settings—especially before heading off on a summer road trip.

Mercedes extracted the maximum in performance and efficiency from the electric CLA's powertrain—and made some damning unforced errors along the way. I like small cars, and I like small luxury cars. “Entry-level” offerings like the 2027 Mercedes-Benz CLA350 4Matic Electric, as we have here, or the BMW 2 Series are routinely dismissed as the lowest rung buyers can grasp to get the badge they covet. But why should only big SUVs get nice materials and pleasant design?
