EV Tuesday Week 63

EV Tuesday Week 63

It's EV Tuesday!

24th January 2023
Hello EV people, it is your favourite time of the week! EV Tuesday is here for your enjoyment.

We have been working away in the office to see what delights we can bring to you this week, and boy do we have a good selection.

The weather is still a little chilly, so why don't you put on the kettle, make a cup of tea, maybe sit down by the fire (if you have one) and have a read through this weeks newsletter.

We will be posting this to our social media channels including Facebook, Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions?  Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: JUSTPARK

Rent out your parking or EV charging space. Make easy tax free money by renting out your parking or EV charging space. It‘s free to list and only takes a few minutes to get up and running.

2. EV NEWS: MOTOR BISCUIT

Toyota Says It Plans To Convert Old Cars Into EVs. Akio Toyoda has a plan. The head of Toyota wants not only his company but all companies to fight global emissions. So his plan is for Toyota to convert gas-powered cars into electric or hydrogen power.

3. EV TIP: SUPERMARKET CHARGERS

Some supermarket chargers are still free, and a few offer up to 22kw charging, also free. So get, and keep with you, a 22kw 3-phase type 2 charging cable (check your car can support a 3 phase cable first). That way you can get the best from your car's AC charging capability.

4. EV PODCAST: WHICH?

How Green is an Electric Car? With the UK set to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, more of us are considering the switch to electric. But, with the environmental impact of making the batteries, and the need to generate the electricity to charge them, what is truly the greenest option - go electric or stick with a petrol or diesel car?

5. EV REVIEW: HEY CAR

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the most appealing electric cars on sale right now. Not only does it look both futuristic and retro at the same time, it's more than competitive in terms of electric range and its interior is surprisingly spacious.

6. EV CHARGE: AUTOTRADER

How many EV charging points are there in the UK? For the first time ever, electric vehicles (EVs) are predicted to outsell diesel cars in the UK this year, according to SMMT (one of the largest trade bodies in the UK). And whilst the cost of EVs steadily drops and public charging more widespread, ‘range anxiety’ (the fear of running out of charge on the road) still holds many people back from switching to EVs.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
