1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: NEED TO CHARGE
Sign up once to NeedToCharge, and plug in at a charger as normal. If a fellow EV driver needs to charge, they can enter your Number Plate at NeedToCharge.com. You’ll receive a notification, and you can respond to let them know when the charger will be free.
2. EV NEWS: EVERYTHING ELECTRIC CARS
The Alpine A390 GTS sets pulses racing, as Imogen takes it on the track, & looks at it from the perspective of an everyday driver too. In world where competition is fierce, can Renault's 'side hustle', really cut through with its first-class performance and tri-motor set-up? And will it prove to be another 'car de triomphe' for a company that is enjoying something of a renaissance in recent years?
What are the different EV charger networks available in Europe? It’s estimated there are more than 240,000 EV chargers in Europe that offer a charge rate up to 22kW and more than 34,000 rapid chargers, which can vary from 50kW right up to 350kW - although the actual charge speed will be determined by your vehicle.
Tesla operates its Supercharger network across Europe, with 6000 Superchargers at 600 sites, while Izivia operates 100,000 charging points across Europe, all using a one-pass-fits-all system whichever country you’re in. Allego offers 26,000 charge points, often sited near Mcdonald's restaurants, Geant Casino supermarkets and Postillion hotels, while IONITY offers 400 charging stations on big European motorways, with around six charging points per station. Freshmile have around 150,000 sites across Europe too.

4. EV PRODUCT: US! EV CABLES
A clever device that helps manage the use of your EV charging cable. Fixed to the wall above your charger, its spring-controlled cord clamps to your EV charging cable and provides assistance with use and storage. When the cable is in use the mechanism locks in the out position allowing the cable to be used safely for charging. At the end of the session, a simple pull and release action allows the mechanism to bring the cable neatly back to the wall.

5. EV REVIEW: EDMUNDS
2026 Tesla Model S
2026 Tesla Model S The 2026 Model S remains competitive on the strength of its specs even in its final year of production. It has an EPA-estimated range of more than 400 miles, and the Plaid version makes prodigious power. But it's also less luxurious, refined and customizable than rival EV luxury sedans.

6. EV VIDEO: ELECTROHEADS
I Timed BYD's 5-Minute EV FLASH Charge technology (and the results are incredible). 5 minute charging has officially arrived! At @byd.unitedkingdom HQ, I got to witness the unveiling of its new FLASH Charging technology, claiming it can charge an electric vehicle from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in only 9 minutes.
Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
