EV Tuesday Week 243

EV Tuesday Week 243

It's EV Tuesday!

27th October 2026

Hello and welcome to our EV Tuesday readers.

As you are all aware, or maybe not if this is your first EV Tuesday newsletter, every week, we work hard behind the scenes, in our warehouse, putting together all the cables you have purchased, ready to send out for you to use. Maybe it's a cable to charge your car or a V2L cable to use when you are camping (not sure if you'd be camping right now in the rain), but we build all our cables right here in Marlow.

As well as building cables, we search high and low to bring to you the best we can find in apps, tips, news, podcasts to listen to and videos to watch. As always, we hope you enjoy your weekly dose of EV Tuesday.

Don't forget to head over to our social media handles like Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit), sign up and share our pages, we do like to get the word out there. You can always sign up to our blog here and receive an extra item :)

So until next week, pop the kettle on and get reading.

Have a great week everyone.

As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: EV.ENERGY SMART CHARGING

A greener, cheaper, simpler way to charge your EV. Smart charging your electric vehicle with ev.energy is the easy way to lower carbon and save money off your home energy bill.

2. EV NEWS: BBC NEWS

Plan for 2,000 EV charging points gets green light. As many as 2,000 new electric vehicle (EV) charging points could be installed in Wiltshire, thanks to a £10m investment plan. The focus will be on providing charging points for residents who do not have space for one outside their home.

Councillor Martin Smith, from Wiltshire Council, said a lack of charging points was "a major barrier to EV uptake" in Wiltshire. "We're behind the curve in Wiltshire [and] this is a starting point," he said. The investment plan includes £3.9m of government funding and a potential £6.1m of private investment targeting areas without EV infrastructure.

3. EV TIP: SHIFT THE WEIGHT

The more weight you have inside the car, the heavier it is, and the more energy it takes to get things moving. You don’t need to go as far as removing seats and spare tyres though. Just make sure you’re not carrying any unnecessarily heavy items – you don’t need to take the kitchen sink on every trip.

4. EV VIDEO: FULLY CHARGED

Instant Classic? Is Britain's Bentley Torcal a brilliant battery EV... or not? While Ferrari and Jaguar's 'electric efforts' have polarised response, has Bentley built the car it was born to make? It may only be affordable to footballers and oligarchs, but it's nice to dream!

5. EV REVIEW: MOTORMOUTH

Lexus TZ

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2027 Lexus TZ, 3-row electric SUV. The TZ 450e is offered with two battery sizes, a 77 kWh battery and a 95.8 kWh battery. The model with the smaller battery has up to 407 km/253 miles of range and the larger battery up to 507 km/315 miles. Both have 308 horsepower. There is a performance upgrade available at the dealership on certain trims giving you 402 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds. At this time we don’t know if Canada will get this power upgrade.

Direct 4AWD and Lexus Safety System + 4.0 is standard and available dynamic rear steering to reduce body sway. Lexus says the TZ offers an elevated experience with a quiet cabin and a dynamic driving character. We’ll have to see when we have the opportunity to drive the TZ, but the focus was definitely on a refined experience.
