EV Tuesday Week 205

EV Tuesday Week 205

It's EV Tuesday!

16th December 2025

Good morning to our EV Tuesday readers!

We are back round to our favourite day of the week where we get to share with you our goodies that we have found. Today we are showing you an insight to what EVs are coming in 2026, 2027 & 2028.

We have been busy again this week, bringing you yet another new product! For those with Portable Chargers, we now have temporary Portable Charger holders to go on the wall. Click here to take a look.

We will be posting this to our social media channels including Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Get involved and give us any ideas in the comments, they may well get used next week!

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: CHARGE HQ

Charge HQ is a smart EV charging app for your home. It supports either a Tesla vehicle or a smart charger (OCPP compliant). Charge HQ monitors your home solar production and automatically controls EV charging to use the excess. We do this by connecting directly to your vehicle or smart wall charger over the Internet. No additional hardware is required for users with compatible equipment.

2. EV NEWS: EV BOOSTERS

Duracell enters the EV charging market with first site live and a £200 million UK investment. Duracell has taken a major step into the electric vehicle charging industry with the launch of its new public charging network, Duracell E Charge. The company’s first site is already live in Cheltenham at Bath Terrace Car Park. It offers 10 ultra rapid chargers with power levels up to 300 kilowatts and enables drivers to reach more than 80 percent charge in less than 30 minutes.

3. EV TIP: UNDERSTAND YOUR EV WARRANTY

Understanding your EV’s warranty is essential for peace of mind and long-term ownership. Most EV manufacturers offer battery warranties that typically last between 8-10 years, which cover defects, performance issues, or significant battery degradation. Knowing the terms of your warranty helps you make informed decisions and avoid unexpected repair costs.

4. EV FUTURE CARS: CAR & DRIVER

Future Electric Vehicles: The EVs You'll Soon Be Able to Buy. These EVs aren't for sale yet but are in various stages from concept to production—and perhaps a few may never see the light of day. Electric cars are the future, and each year we've seen automakers add more EVs to their lineups. Everyone is working on electric vehicles, from well-established existing manufacturers to new names such as Lucid, Slate, and Rivian. We've compiled a list of every electric vehicle, from concept to production, that isn't available yet but will be soon.

5. EV REVIEW: THE DRIVE

2026 Subaru Solterra

If you came for the one-sentence review of the 2026 Subaru Solterra, here it is: Its major shortcomings have been addressed in the latest refresh, and it’s hands-down the one to buy over its Toyota bZ and Lexus RZ siblings. The new Solterra arrived with more power, more range, and better looks. All of these were minor tweaks that add up to an EV that’s now worth considering, and a much better value proposition than its reskinned siblings.
