Quick delivery, quality product. Not the cheapest perhaps, but you get what you pay for - I have full confidence in this key component of my EV system. Would buy same again, but I don't expect to need to.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 uses a standard 120V household outlet (NEMA 5-15) and adds roughly 3-5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a 240V outlet (NEMA 14-30) and adds roughly 20-30 miles per hour - about 5x faster. Most EV owners choose Level 2 for a full overnight charge.
What outlet do I need?
A NEMA 14-30 - the same 4-prong 240V outlet your electric dryer uses. Most US homes built after 1996 have one.
How long does it take to charge my EV?
It depends on your charger level and battery size. Level 1 (120V): 30-50 hours for a full charge, roughly 3-5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 (240V): 6-10 hours for a full charge, roughly 20-30 miles per hour. Most EV owners charge overnight and wake up to a full battery.
Will this work with my car?
Yes - works with every J1772 EV and plug-in hybrid. That’s every non-Tesla EV sold in the US. For Tesla, see our dedicated Tesla NACS Charger.
What is NACS vs J1772?
J1772 has been the standard EV charging connector in North America for years. Most non-Tesla EVs use this connector. NACS (North American Charging Standard) was originally developed by Tesla and is becoming the new industry standard. If you drive a non-Tesla EV, choose our J1772 charger. For Tesla or newer NACS-equipped vehicles, see our dedicated NACS charger.
Can I share the outlet with my dryer?
Yes. Unplug the dryer when charging overnight, or use a smart splitter. Many customers do exactly this.
How does this compare to a hardwired charger?
Same Level 2 charging speed without the $500–1,000+ installation cost. Plus it’s portable - take it to any 240V outlet.
Is 240V safe with a portable charger?
Yes. Built with UL-certified components, designed to UL 2594 / SAE J1772. 8 layers of protection including over-temperature, ground fault, and lightning. Every unit individually tested.
Where does it ship from?
Stocked lengths from Buda, TX (1–3 days). Others from the UK (9–11 days). Free shipping on all US orders.
Do you offer a warranty?
Every charger comes with a full 2-year warranty. Beyond that, our serviceable design means we can repair your cable even after the warranty period. We also offer extended warranty options up to 5 years for complete peace of mind.
Why choose Wottz over other portable EV chargers?
Three things set us apart. Cable lengths up to 100ft (most competitors max out at 20-25ft). Every charger is individually safety tested to 28 checkpoints. And our unique serviceable design means we can repair your cable even years from now - no other brand offers this. Plus we've been building EV cables since 2014.
