1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: WAZE

Waze is popular with non-EV and EV drivers alike, thanks to its ease of use and community-driven data. Drivers share information about traffic, road conditions, incidents, speed cameras, and other useful navigational updates that can help you avoid lengthy traffic jams. Waze supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — but if you’re a Tesla driver, there’s even more good news.

A dedicated Tesla Waze website allows you to use Waze on your Tesla screen, so you can take advantage of the millions of community updates that make Waze one of the most popular navigation apps for drivers.

2. EV NEWS: CLAIMS MEDIA

Allianz UK is proud to announce a significant step towards its sustainability goals with a commitment to transition to an electric vehicle (EV) fleet by the end of 2030. During 2025 Allianz UK has been trialling a new process for fleet vehicle orders which marks a pivotal move in Allianz’s journey towards reducing its carbon footprint.

So far this year 160 new electric vehicles have been ordered, and are in progress, for Allianz’s UK fleet. This brings the overall new electric vehicle figure to 307, representing 28% of the total fleet.

3. EV TIP: LISTEN TO A GOOD PODCAST

We love a good podcast here at EV Cables. Listening to a podcast can be fun and interesting. It is a great way to find out more about your electric vehicle, things that are going in the EV industry and finding out peoples thoughts and ideas. Here are a few you could follow: Fully Charged, Electrek, EV Daily News & Inside EVs.

4. EV BATTERY: LIFE SPAN OF A BATTERY

Electric car batteries, commonly known as lithium-ion batteries, have made tremendous progress in recent years. They are designed to be durable and long-lasting. On average, these batteries can last between 8 to 15 years (about 100,000 to 200,000 miles), with most EV warranties starting at 8 years. Projected battery improvements suggest that future EV batteries will outlast an electric car’s lifespan.

An EV battery’s overall durability depends on various factors, such as: UsageEnvironmental conditions Maintenance To ensure you’re following the EV charging best practices, always refer to your specific model’s manufacturing guidelines. This can help extend its lifespan to maximize your EV’s efficiency and longevity. Let’s explore these 10 EV charging dos and don’ts that apply to most electric vehicles.

5. EV REVIEW: AUTOCAR

MG IM5

MG IM5 This new EV is MG’s first super-saloon since the V8-engined ZT of 2003. But is it any good? European policymakers are scrambling to protect the interests of their homegrown car makers but the torrent of temptingly priced, technologically rapier-sharp Chinese EV simply flows on. The latest insurgent is this, the MG IM5.
