Here we are, at the end of September already! Hasn't the year just flown by, thanks to a lovely warm Summer we have had 🌞
Each week, as a whole, we try to bring you a great choice of EV material to read and watch. We always include an app, a tip, a review and a bit of EV News. We try to include a Podcast or a video for you all to watch, read or listen to. Do let us know if there is anything you would like us to include in one of our EV Tuesday newsletters and we will be sure to include it.

How long does it take to charge an electric car? Use the tool below to calculate the total charging time for a single charge of your electric vehicle or calculate the daily charging time for your electric vehicle.
2. EV NEWS: TRANSPORT ENERGY
EV choice doubles as new model hits UK market every two weeks. The choice of electric vehicles (EVs) has doubled in three years with a new model hitting the UK market every fortnight, according to research by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Eighty five new battery electric (BEV) car models have reached the UK market since 2023 – doubling the number available to 171. They sit alongside 109 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and 52 hybrid electric (HEV) models, meaning more than 75% of the UK’s available market offering is capable of driving without tailpipe emissions.
3. EV TIP: USE A GARAGE WHERE POSSIBLE
Sure, sometimes it can be more convenient to park in the driveway or in the street. And, sure, sometimes there’s a bit more clutter in the garage than there needs to be. But for EV drivers who have a garage, keeping the vehicle inside during winter can be a major difference maker. The relative warmth of the garage will help keep the battery charged longer. Further, a battery left in the cold weather too long won’t perform as well as one kept in warmer air. This also applies to indoor parking facilities at shopping centres, sporting events and any other opportunity where you have the option to park indoors rather than outdoors.

I drove the cheapest EV until it DIED!! How far can Europe’s cheapest and smallest electric cars actually go on a single charge before shutting down completely? Join Mat Watson as he drives 8 affordable EVs until every single one runs completely out of juice! Starting with the featherweight of the group, the long-range Microlino starts from around £22,870 and weighs in at an ultra-light 535 kg. Powered by a modest 17 hp electric motor, its 15 kWh battery pack promises an official WLTP claimed range of 142 miles.
5. EV REVIEW: TOP GEAR
Cupra Raval
The first of Volkswagen’s MEB+ platformed cars we've tested properly. So the ID. Polo is the sensible supermini, the ID. Cross is the more practical small SUV-thing, the Skoda Epiq is the value-for-money one, leaving some space for the Raval to be Cupra’s spicy-little-tearaway. To that end, it’s a small electric five-seat, front-drive hatch with (in the top-end VZ spec) 222bhp and 214lb ft, 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds and a few choice go-faster bits of hardware. So you get an e-diff, DCC (dynamic chassis control), a 15mm lower ride height and 10mm increase in track width. You can turn off the ESC and play with modes. That’s quite the statement of intention from Cupra. Essentially even the base model gets the suspension and handling from the top-spec ID. Polo GTI.
