Here at EV Cables, we are looking forward to seeing what new cars are coming out this year, hopefully there may be a few new Apps to share with you and perhaps a new Podcast.

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: IONITY

You’re searching for a top-notch EV charging experience? Here you are: Download the IONITY App to access Europe’s leading High-Power Charging (HPC) network available across 24 countries – open to EVs from all manufacturers. Our network delivers maximum charging speeds of up to 400 kW, enabling you to charge 300 kilometres of range in 15 minutes. Faster charging sessions — more time for you.

2. EV NEWS: GOV.UK

Get that electric feeling: new campaign launched to show savings and benefits of going electric. Drivers are being encouraged to make the switch to electric when they purchase their next car and save thousands in the process, as the Department for Transport (DfT) launches its new ‘Get that electric feeling’ campaign today (19 January 2026).

3. EV TIP: KEEP A BACK-UP CABLE

Not all public EV chargers use the same cable types, and you might encounter stations that require a Type 2 or CCS (Combined Charging System) cable. To avoid being caught without the right connection, it’s always a good idea to carry a backup charging cable in your car. This ensures you’re prepared for any charging situation, whether you’re on the road or visiting a new location. By keeping an extra cable, you can confidently use a wider range of charging stations, ensuring that you can charge up no matter where you are.

4. EV CHARGE: SMART HOME CHARGE

Charge your car in as little as 20 minutes using a rapid EV charger. Compare the cost of rapid electric vehicle charging networks side-by-side to see which one best suits your journey. Simply choose your vehicle, then adjust the mileage dial and get a true reflection on charging costs.

5. EV REVIEW: ETOP GEAR

Jaguar EV

New Jaguar EV review... from the passenger seat: how does this 1,000bhp, tri-motor GT stack up? Glad you’re so excited. Yes, after the bungled brand relaunch and the extra-spicy backlash to the Type 00 concept, the Jaguar rebirth is still on track. Which means it will be launching the first car of the new EV era in 2026 – expect a full reveal around summertime. We’ll be driving the finished thing towards the end of the year.
