EV Tuesday Week 244

EV Tuesday Week 244

It's EV Tuesday!

3rd November 2026

Good morning to our EV Tuesday readers!
How are well all on this beautiful November morning? Have you noticed how Autumnal the trees are starting to look as we head into Winter? Did the clock change keep you on your toes?
We managed to set our alarms for the correct time and didn't miss a trick! Has anyone got a Tesla and used it to play Halloween music at the weekend? If you did and have a video of it do send it in to us and we may feature it in one of our EV Tuesday newsletters.
Anyhow, here we are with another great read of EV Tuesday right here! So, grab a cuppa, finish off the Halloween treats and read through this week's EV Tuesday newsletter.

Don't forget to head over to our social media handles like Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit), sign up and share our pages, we do like to get the word out there. You can always sign up to our blog here and receive an extra item :)

So until next week, pop the kettle on and get reading.

Have a great week everyone.

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: EV NAVIGATION

EV Navigation is a turn-by-turn navigation and route planner system, created for electric car users all around the world. EV Navigation does not only provide users with a reliable navigation system, including charging stations, but it is also capable of calculating the range the users can cover with their individually selected electric car.

2. EV NEWS: GOV.UK

The government will cut prices at local, lower-powered electric vehicle chargers across Britain, saving drivers who rely on them around £150 a year. Budget 2026 will build fiscal stability, give breathing space on the cost of living and the cost of doing business, and offer fresh hope for the future.

3. EV TIP: PERFORM REGULAR MAINTAENANCE

Electric cars generally require a lot less work than petrol-powered vehicles, but some basic care is still necessary. Keep the tyres inflated, regularly change the air filter and check fluid levels.

4. EV PODCAST: EVERYTHING EV

Paris promises and Texas theatrics. In this bumper Everything EV episode, Richard Alvin and George East cover a fortnight of electric car news: Europe's retro fightback at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, China's next wave of tech-packed EVs, and Tesla finally launching the new Roadster, complete with thrusters and some very interesting small print.

5. EV REVIEW: TOP GEAR

BYD ATTO 2

Another in the ever-expanding range from BYD, the world's largest combined maker of EVs and PHEVs. It's Chinese, but opening a plant in Hungary in late 2026. This one's called the Yuan Up in its homeland, but over here it’s the Atto 2, sitting below the Atto 3 crossover. The Atto 2 came first as an EV, but now there's a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) too. BYD calls its PHEV system DM-i and as we'll see its engineering is very different from what's in the German-engineered PHEVs.

6. EV HOME CHARGE: CHARGING AT HOME

Established in 2022, Charging At Home was started by myself, Callum, and is rapidly growing in the UK with our reviews, cost guides and advice on what it’s like owning an EV (I’ve got a Nissan Leaf). It could be something generic about electric cars or about a specific charger model, whatever it is, we will do our best to provide honest feedback or point you in the direction of the answer your looking for.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
