EV Tuesday Week 96

EV Tuesday Week 96

It's EV Tuesday!

19th September 2023
Hello EV Tuesday readers. How are we all? Are you having a good week so far?
We have been busy here at EV Cables sourcing some excellent tools, tips, news and podcasts for you to look at.
Now is the time to take a quick break from whatever you are doing, pick up a drink and sit down for 10 minutes to go through the links we have chosen this week.
We will be posting this to our social media channels including Facebook, Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)
Did You Know?
Global plugin vehicle registrations were up 41% in July 2023 compared to July 2022, rising to 1,104,00 units. In the end, plugins represented 16% share of the overall auto market (11% BEV share alone). This means that the global automotive market is firmly in the Electric Disruption Zone. Add close to 900,000 units coming from plug-less hybrids and we have one quarter of global registrations having some form of electrification!
Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!
Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions?  Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.
Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

Plugsurfing makes it easy to charge your electric car in Europe. Join the fastest growing network of major European operators for access to fast, flexible and transparent public charging.

Porsche’s new Taycan Turbo GT spotted with a sleek and sporty design to rival Tesla Plaid. The Tesla Model S Plaid’s newest rival was spotted at the Nürburgring ahead of its imminent debut. In the latest spy images, Porsche’s new Taycan Turbo GT looks up to the test with a sporty aerodynamic design.

Make sure that you don't let your electric car's battery deplete completely, as that can reduce overall battery life. We recommend charging when the battery dips below the 30 percent mark.

ZeroNet is the national charging network that delivers what EV drivers need. It neutralises range anxiety through simple, robust and reliable Charging Stations at locations drivers can trust. Drivers can eat, play, work or sleep while topping up their vehicles. Unlike other networks, drivers don't need to register, pay monthly fees or carry smart cards. The essence of ZeroNet is strictly pay-as-you-go. Drivers can simply pull up and plug in, trusting in charging stations that work every time.

Smart #1

Smart #1: Smart's new small but spacious electric crossover is aimed at younger buyers. Smart is back for the electric era as part of a 50:50 joint venture between Mercedes and Geely. The former has brought the design, while the latter has delivered the platform for the reborn Smart brand’s first vehicle since its return, the #1 (pronounced “hashtag one”).

Ferrari’s First EV Is Not What You Expect…Jack takes a spin in the new Ferrari Testarossa J: a creation of the Bicester-based Little Car Company. An officially licensed Ferrari product and obsessive recreation of one of the greatest and most beautiful racing cars of all time, is this just a rich person's plaything? Or something more significant entirely?

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
