EV Tuesdays Week 53

EV Tuesdays Week 53

It's EV Tuesday!

15th November 2022

Hello EV Tuesday readers,

How are we all? Are you having a good week so far? We have been busy here at EV Cables sourcing some excellent tools, tips, videos and podcasts for you to look at.

We have a fantastic event that may be of interest to you and, as usual, a great tip.

Now is the time to take a quick break from whatever you are doing, pick up a drink and sit down for 10 minutes to go through the links we have chosen this week.

As usual we will be posting these on our social media channels including Facebook, Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit) & Twitter, head over and give us a follow, like or an upvote. If it is an extra item you would like, sign up to our blog right here. Until next time, happy reading!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions?  Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK:
EV8 SWITCH

If you’re thinking about going green and making the switch to an EV what should you consider? Concerned about cost? Range anxiety?

Many people feel they don’t know enough to make an informed choice about an electric vehicle or EV.

2. EV PRODUCT: CABLE REEL

Untidy EV cable getting you down? Not any more: Most EV drivers frequently charge their vehicle, not only using their charger at home, but also at public charging points. This is where they need the portable charging cable, which comes with the car.

3. EV TIP: CABLES

Think carefully when buying 11kW EV Cables. 11kW is 3 Phase but 16amps. So when charging at 7kW (1 Phase | 32amp) EVSEs (e.g Pod_Point, Wallbox Chargers) it's limited to just 1 phase 16amp i.e. 3kW

In most cases, a 22kW 3P|32A Cable is better, which can charge at 22,11,7 or 3kW.

4. EV EVENT: FULLY CHARGED LIVE

Fully Charged Live is a global success story! It already attracts tens of thousands of people & the electric revolution has barely begun.

Wherever it is in the world, we'll bring brands, tonnes of visitor attractions, test drives & as many electric vehicles we can get our hands on.

Dates include 28th - 30th April 2023 in Farnborough, Hampshire & 19th - 21st May 2023 in Harrogate.

5. EV NEWS: THE GUARDIAN - ZERO EV

Australian EV conversion startup merges with UK firm to turn classic cars electric. Merged Australian-UK firm will convert Porsche 911s, Mini Coopers, Land Rovers and Land Rover Defenders into EVs

The news is out. Zero EV has teamed up with Jaunt to become Fellten #FL10EV #FL10.

6. EV REVIEW: CARWOW - RIMAC NEVERA

Rimac Nevera: the 1,914hp electric hypercar driven. It’s insanely quick in a straight line, but is this electric hypercar actually any fun to drive?

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
