EV Tuesdays Week 58

It's EV Tuesday!

20th December 2022

Before we jump in we have an exciting new product...

High Visibility EV Charging Cables

High Visibility. Reduce the risk of trips and falls due to loose charging cables.

Good Afternoon EV Gang!

Can you believe in 5 days time it will be Christmas and 2022 is almost over. Who is looking forward to 2023 and who is ready to put 2022 behind them?

Well now is the time to kick back with a cup of tea, maybe something stronger if you have finished for Christmas already, and take a look at what we have to offer this week.

Don't forget to head over to our social media channels like Facebook
Reddit (check out our subreddit r/evcables) & Twitter to add any comments you want to make. We'll also be posting these to our blog (with one extra item!), so get involved and give us any ideas in the comments.

Until next time, have a fantastic Christmas and we will see you all next week with another edition of EV Tuesdays.

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions?  Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: EV HOTELS

Find your favorite hotels that have Electric Car Charging! Worldwide App to find and reserve hotels with EV (Electric Vehicle) charging facilities. The #1 road trip planning tool for EV drivers.

2. EV FACTS: EDF ENERGY

11 interesting facts about electric cars. As a new technology, there are lots to learn about electric cars. How to charge them, how they work and how good they are for the environment are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.

There are also some lesser-known facts about electric cars that we’ve discovered that we thought we’d like to share with you.

3. EV TIP: COLD WEATHER DRIVING

Check the conditions of your tyres. Can you remember the last time you checked your wheels? Tyre pressure aside, good tyre thread depth ensures you get as much grip as possible.

The age-old way of checking is by inserting a 20p coin into the tread grooves on the tyre. If you can't see the outer band on the coin, your tyres are above the legal limit which is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre.

You should also check for any cuts and bits and pieces hanging of the tyres. Good to keep an eye out for any damage and cuts which can worsen over time.

4. EV NEWS: TOP GEAR

What’s the best EV for Christmas trees? Fiat’s 500C isn’t notably practical, but it could have its uses at Christmas time…Sometimes you have to think laterally when it comes to utilising the practicality of a car.

Give your head a solid bit of scratching and you could release a mass of untapped potential from a car that others would write off.

5. EV REVIEW: PARKERS

Fiat 500 Though it’s undergone many revisions, trim additions and styling tweaks, the basic shape of the Fiat 500 has remained pretty much the same since it was rebooted in retro-modern form way back in 2007.

However, the new 500 (or the new new 500, depending on how you classify the classic 1957 model) is based on a totally fresh set of underpinnings.

6. EV CHARGE: MINA

Radically simple EV charging solutions for businesses. Employees don’t pay a thing. Businesses receive just one monthly invoice for all electric vehicle charging costs, with EV charging insights and carbon reporting shown on a single dashboard.
