Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: ZAPMAP

UK’s No.1 EV mapping service - locate charge points, plan your journey and share updates with other EV drivers. With over 22,000 locations, 37,000 devices and 62,000 connectors mapped, Zapmap shows charge points from both the major networks and smaller providers across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

2. EV NEWS: SMMT

The UK new car market rose by 7.2% in February to 90,100 registrations, according to the latest figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The growth brings the highest February volume in 22 years,1 although the month is conventionally lower volume and therefore more volatile, with many buyers preferring to wait for the March numberplate change.

3. EV TIP: EXPLORE COMMUNITY CHARGING

If installing a home charging point simply isn’t an option for you, don’t despair. There are alternatives. For instance, you might find it helpful to look into peer-to-peer charging networks such as Zap-Home. The Zap-Home network shows the home charge points of Zapmap users who have decided to share them with other EV drivers. Charge point details are visible only to registered Zapmap users, and owners can offer their home charge point under their own conditions. Some owners choose to offer charging for free, with others charging a small fee. You may well be pleasantly surprised to see how many Zap-Home points are in your area.

4. EV BREAKDOWN: ELECTRIC CAR GUIDE

When something goes wrong when you are out in an Electric car, an EV breakdown doesn’t always follow the same pattern as a petrol or diesel car. While the idea of roadside assistance is the same, electric vehicles introduce different systems, safety considerations and recovery requirements that UK drivers need to understand.

5. EV REVIEW: ELECTRIFYING

MG4

The MG4 changed the game when it first arrived – sharp to drive, generously equipped and aggressively priced. But the electric hatchback market doesn’t stand still. Since then, a wave of talented new rivals has arrived, all promising more range, more tech and more polish. So where does that leave the updated 2026 MG4? Tom “Wookie” Ford gets behind the wheel for a full first drive of the latest version to find out whether MG has done enough to keep its electric hatch at the sharp end of the market – or whether newer arrivals have pushed it down the pecking order.

6. EV BLOG: LOVE ELECTRIC

The electric SUV market in 2026 represents the sweet spot between practicality and sustainability. With the UK's 2030 petrol and diesel ban approaching and manufacturers racing to meet the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate, we've never had more choice in electric SUVs. Whether you're after a spacious family hauler, a luxury cruiser, or something that won't break the bank, there's an electric SUV that fits.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
