It's EV Tuesday!

17th March 2026

Happy EV Tuesday everyone!
How are we half way through March already! The sun is starting to shine (in small doses!), the flowers are starting to grow and soon we will be enjoying a BBQ or 2.
Anyhow, did you all enjoy the tips and tools last week? Was there anything you found interesting? Would there be anything you would like more information on?
This week we have a few interesting features for you to enjoy like a podcast, video, some news and another handy tip.
So now is the time to put everything to one side, put your feet up and enjoy this weeks EV Tuesdays newsletter.
We will be posting this to our social media channels including Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Get involved and give us any ideas in the comments, they may well get used next week!

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: CAURA

Caura is the ultimate app for streamlining and managing everything related to your electric vehicle. You can organise and pay for car MOTs, tolls, and insurance all within the app’s user-friendly dashboard. Whilst EV owners are exempt from many common charges such as road tax and city congestion charges, Caura puts all your remaining admin in one place.

2. EV NEWS: AUTO CAR

Car makers beat their electric car sales targets in 2024, the first year of the UK's ZEV mandate, according to new figures released by the Department for Transport (DfT). As a whole the industry hit a 19.8% EV mix against a target of 22% but added the equivalent of an additional 4.7% through CO2 credits on the Vehicle Emissions Trading Scheme (VETS), taking the total to an equivalent of 24.1%.

3. EV TIP: OFF PEAK CHARGING

Therefore, it's not only time and energy efficient, but could help cut costs. Make sure you don't leave your car charging for the whole night though as this could be counterintuitive, you should only charge for the hours you need.

4. EV PODCAST: MOTOR TREND CHANNEL

Tesla Veteran Building Ford’s Next EV Platform | The $30K Electric Truck Explained. Alan Clarke spent over a decade at Tesla — working on Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck, and even Tesla’s battery swap program. Now he’s Ford’s Executive Director of Advanced EV Development — leading the Ford Universal EV Platform and the upcoming affordable midsize electric pickup targeting ~$30,000 and 300 miles of range.

5. EV REVIEW: EV POWERED

6. EV VIDEO: COME CHARGE WITH US!

Arctic Agile! Comparing Octopus Agile in winter vs summer. Welcome back to Come Charge with Us! Last summer, we showed what our charging strategy and costs were on the Octopus Agile tariff - and we thought it would be interesting to run the same experiment again in winter and see what the differences are!! As with the previous video, there will be educational elements around energy pricing, lots of numbers to get stuck into and the usual waffle and random chats. We also introduce a new website that Phil keeps an eye on to try and help us work out when to charge....

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
