EV Tuesday Week 87

EV Tuesday Week 87

It's EV Tuesday!

18th July 2023

It's Tuesday, Happy Tuesday EV Owners!

A new week is upon us already, lets's hope this week is a bit brighter.......where has the sun gone?

This we have a great line up for you, including a blog article from us at EV Cables.

As usual each week we will bring to you 5 different tools, tutorials, podcasts, pretty much anything we can find to help you with your electric car. Now sit back and relax and have a read through the things we have found this week.

Did you know?
YOU PLACE AN ORDER, WE PLANT A TREE
We work with ecologi to fund a tree for every order we receive, however big or small. This is one part of our mission towards sustainability.

At the same time, we're developing our plugs to be ready for refurbishment, reducing our plastic packaging and driving towards a local supply chain.

We will be posting this to our social media channels including Facebook, Twitter & Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). If you have access to our blog, you will get an extra item :)

Right, ready.....steady.........GO!!

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions?  Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: CHARGEMAP

Chargemap is the ideal travelling companion to help you find charging stations and plan hassle-free trips in your electric car. Chargemap is the benchmark app that is already the loyal companion of over a million EV and PHEV drivers for stress-free travelling and charging.
Chargemap’s map lists over 500,000 charge points and covers most European charging networks. It makes it so easy to locate charging stations in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Austria, Britain, Norway and many other countries across Europe.

2. EV NEWS: AUTOCAR

Dacia Spring city EV finally confirmed for UK sales in 2024. Budget electric supermini to get more 'modern' look as it goes on sale in the UK. The Dacia Spring – Europe's cheapest electric car – will go on sale in the UK in summer 2024, arriving with significant design and technology upgrades to help it fend off competition from newer European-designed EVs.

3. EV TIP: YOU CAN CHARGE YOUR CAR IN THE RAIN

You can charge in the rain, you can take an electric car through a car wash and if you have to traverse a flooded road, you won't be electrocuted (just make sure you adhere to the car's wading depth - check your manual for details). Meanwhile, the standards for electric car charge points say the points must have a minimum waterproofing rating of IP44, which means they should be protected from water splashes from any angle - more than sufficient for all rain conditions

5. EV REVIEW: AUTO EXPRESS

Toyota Mirai

The hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai is a demonstration of future car tech you can buy today. Having been pioneers of hybrid power when first launching the Prius back in 1997, Toyota have now turned their attention to hydrogen fuel cell cars and the result is the new Toyota Mirai.

The success of the Prius, which has now sold over one million models in Europe alone, has spurred Toyota into new low emission ventures. Not wanting to rest on its laurels, the Japanese car maker has long been looking even further into the future, setting its sights firmly on 100 per cent zero emission vehicles.
