Good Morning EV Community.

Who is enjoying this beautiful weather? What did you think of the great links last week? This week we have some fantastic electric vehicle goodies for you to browse through. There may be a bit of news, a review, some facts and possibly a video to watch.

Now is the time to stop what you are doing for a few minutes, click on the links and see what we have in store this week.

We'll also be posting these to our blog here (with one extra item!) Twitter, Facebook, Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit). Feel free to add any comments or pop us a message with something you may like to be featured.......you may even get a special mention

Until next time, have a great week!

1. EV APP of the Week: EV Notify

EVNotify allows you to track the state of charge as well as data such as charging power of your electric vehicle from distance. It gives you notification when the desired state of charge has been achieved or your charge interrupted!

2. EV News: wired.co.uk

The Future of EV Charging is Bidirectional, If You Can Afford It. Idle electric vehicles could act as massive batteries for homes and the energy grid. But the technology to pull this off is tricky. Click on the link to read more!

3. EV Tip: Claiming back the electricity cost of charging

If you use an EV for work, you may want to claim back the charging cost for the miles you do from your employer. In theory, it’s possible to claim the price of the electricity, but in practice it’s very complex to track and report. As a result, many employers prefer to use the official HMRC Advisory Electricity Rate (AER) rate, which is currently set at 5p per mile.

Please note, though, that these rates apply to fully electric cars. Plug-in hybrids use the standard business mileage rates for petrol or diesel, depending on their engine.

4. EV Review: What Car?

MG ZS EV Review. The problem with electric cars – especially electric SUVs – is that while they're cheap to run, they're usually expensive to buy. The MG ZS EV you see here is the notable exception. Click on the link to read the full review.

5. EV Video: Fully Charged

The super cheap solar-powered car is finally here! Who wants a cheap, simple EV that charges itself by the sun? Oh and you also want some moss on the dashboard? Well, you're in luck.

Blog Version Extra:

6. EV Facts: EDF Energy

11 interesting facts about electric cars. As a new technology, there are lots to learn about electric cars. How to charge them, how they work and how good they are for the environment are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. There are also some lesser-known facts about electric cars that we’ve discovered that we thought we’d like to share with you.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
