EV Tuesdays Week 49

EV Tuesdays: Week 49
18th October 2022

An Exciting New Item

EV Cable Reel. We can’t count the number of times we’ve been asked how to you should organise your EV Cable so we’re excited to have a great solution. Check out this beauty!

A simple, smart reel that keeps your EV Cable tidy and clean. It includes a solid base, so you can store it in your boot or  wherever else works for you. Great for you or a gift for your EV obsessed loved one.

We’re offering 10% off the EV Cable Reel when brought with an EV Cable, but as many EV Tuesday readers already own a cable from us we’re extending this to all readers until the end of October even if it’s purchased on it’s own.

Just use the discount code EVREEL10 at the checkout (with your EV Reel in the basket) and the discount will be applied.

Welcome to our EV Tuesday fans. Well here we are, the middle of October already. How are we all doing? Who is starting to get ready for Christmas?

We hope that you are finding our hints, tips and tools useful. This week we have a great bit of news for you to read, a new tip and if you sign up to our blog you will get an extra item!

Now is the time to take a 10 minute break, (it doesn't take too long to read through the newsletter), sit down with a cup of coffee and have a read through what we have in store this week.

Don't forget we will be posting these on our social media channels including Facebook, Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit) & Twitter, head over and give us a follow, like or an up-vote. If it is an extra item you would like, sign up to our blog right here. Leave a comment or pop us some  feedback on what you have seen today or if there is anything else you would like, we will always add what we can.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV App of the Week: Plugsurfing

We were asked how to use your EV abroad. Here we have found a charging app you may find useful.
Plugsurfing makes it easy to charge your electric car in Europe. Join the fastest growing network of major European operators for access to fast, flexible and transparent public charging.

2. EV Question: What is your favourite EV and why?

Take a look at our question of the week. Pop us an email, comment on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit or at SpeakEV with your favourite colour. You never know, we may produce the most popular colour.

3. EV Tip: Taking an EV overseas

What are the different EV charger networks available in Europe? It’s estimated there are more than 240,000 EV chargers in Europe that offer a charge rate up to 22kW and more than 34,000 rapid chargers, which can vary from 50kW right up to 350kW - although the actual charge speed will be determined by your vehicle.

Tesla operates its Supercharger network across Europe, with 6000 Superchargers at 600 sites, while Izivia operates 100,000 charging points across Europe, all using a one-pass-fits-all system whichever country you’re in.

Allego offers 26,000 charge points, often sited near McDonald's restaurants, Geant Casino supermarkets and Postillion hotels, while IONITY offers 400 charging stations on big European motorways, with around six charging points per station.

Freshmile have around 150,000 sites across Europe too.

4. EV Group: Electric Car Community

ElectricCarCommunity.com provides access to the latest electric Vehicle news stories. Our editorial team searches through hundreds of news items each week and posts the best articles from trusted EV news sources across the Internet. ECC also provides content resources for EV drivers, including vehicle profiles, model data, and charging information.

5. EV Review: Car Magazine

BMW iX electric SUV (2022) Say one thing for the way the BMW iX looks – say it’s distinctive. Whatever you think of that nose, or that rear overhang, you aren’t going to mistake it for any other car. Which is good news, we reckon, because BMW has certainly put some effort into engineering its first bespoke-platform EV since the i3.

6. EV News: WhatCar.com

Government extends electric car grant delivery time so buyers don't miss out. The £1500 discount on the price of many new electric cars was scrapped in 2021, but if you ordered a car before the cut-off date you will get the saving.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
