EV Tuesdays Week 64

EV Tuesdays Week 64

It's EV Tuesday!

31st January 2023
Good Morning EV Community.

Happy EV Tuesday. A month into the year already! What did you think of the great links last week?

This week we have some fantastic electric vehicle goodies for you to browse through. There may be a bit of news, a video, some charging info even and a fantastic app.

Now is the time to stop what you are doing for a few minutes, click on the links and see what we have in store this week.

We'll also be posting these to our blog here (with one extra item!) Twitter, Facebook & Reddit (check-out the r/evcables subreddit).

Feel free to add any comments or pop us a message with something you may like to be featured.......you may even get a special mention.

Until next time, have a great week.

Feedback, Requests, Questions?
As always, please give us feedback on Twitter. Which item is your favourite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions?  Just send a tweet to @ev_cables and put #EVTuesdays at the end so we can find it.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!

1. EV APP OF THE WEEK: EVSE MASTER

An app for smart EV charging stations. With this app, you can control the charging station through your smartphone, making it easier than ever to charge your car.

2. EV NEWS: GOV.UK

Electric vehicle charge point grant if you own or rent a flat. An electric vehicle charge point grant (also called an EV charge point grant) can help towards the cost of installing an electric vehicle charge point socket at your property.

EV charge point grants have replaced the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS). If you applied to the EVHS and you’re waiting for a decision, you do not need to apply for an EV charge point grant.

3. EV TIP: METERED POWER

Keep a close eye on metered power declared by chargers. A Geniepoint near me declared 11kw delivered even though my car's basic cable was only capable of 7kw, and the car only received 7kw. If it wasn't free at point of charge this would be mis-selling.

4. EV VIDEO: TECH VISION

Ever wondered how EVs get from A to B? Is it essentially the same as an internal combustion car, but wired up to a giant battery? Or is there some altogether more subtle trickery afoot?

5. EV REVIEW: MOTOR TREND

Maserati GranTurismo Folgore

2024 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Exclusive First Drive Review: First Strike.

For its "lightning" electric subbrand, Maserati transfers racing technology to a swift, elegant grand touring coupe.

6. EV CHARGE: GRIDSERVE

The GRIDSERVE Electric Highway was born out of a simple question: how could we best deploy all of the sustainable, hybrid solar energy we generate to help move the needle on climate change? Our answer was through transport.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
